Who We Are and What We Do!

Clothe The People is a Fort Collins, CO based grassroots, decentralized, democratic and horizontal mutual aid organization. We are here to support other grassroots organizations, assist vulnerable populations in their struggle for dignity and self liberation, directly meet the needs expressed by our community members, and fight for fundamental transformative change through direct action, love, and solidarity.

We believe that access to basic necessities is a fundamental human right, and we work to ensure those rights are met for all within our community, across Colorado, and beyond.

Our mission is radically simple: to distribute clothing, food, hygiene goods, and harm reduction supplies to those in need; create the community we want to see and deserve; and support one another through various forms of mutual aid. Unlike traditional charitable organizations, we operate without a hierarchical structure, prioritize a “solidarity, not charity” mindset, and attempt to redistribute supplies (rather than creating more waste) whenever possible. We embrace a collaborative and inclusive approach, empowering community members to work together as equals toward a shared goal of compassion, care, love, solidarity, and liberation.

At Clothe The People, we understand the power of collective action. Through partnerships with other grassroots organizations, local businesses, and individual volunteers, we create networks of mutual aid that extend far beyond the immediate needs of clothing and supplies. Our efforts foster a sense of dignity, solidarity, and hope for those giving and receiving mutual aid alike, as we seek to build a truly just and equitable society. Whether you’re here to donate, volunteer, submit a mutual aid request, or simply learn more about what we do, we welcome you to be part of our growing community. Together, every act of kindness is an act of resistance.
